The 27th Annual Go-Pher Sale, sponsored by the Minnesota Hereford Breeders, and the annual banquet were the big items on the agenda this week in Minnesota. Consignors had their cattle ready and lots of bidders were walking the aisles evaluating the offering.

This year there were 2 heifers that tied for the top bid of $5,000.

Lot 9, AH JDF MS 19D Violet 2T ET was consigned by Delaney Herefords of Lake Benton, MN, and is a 01/29/07 daughter of NJW 1Y Wrangler 19D and out of CRR D03 Violet 349. She sold to Dale & Abigale Farley of Alcester, SD for $5,000.

Lot 19, HA Remtone T701, also sold for $5,000. Consigned by McIver’s Happy Acres of Farwell, MN she is a 02/26/07 daughter of Remitall Patriot ET 13P and out of HA Remtone L164. Hoffman Herefords, Colin & Mary Beth Hoffman, of Leola, SD purchased L164 from McIver’s.

Top-selling bred heifer was Lot 44, KPH Huntress 0684, consigned by Krogstad Polled Herefords of Fertile, MN. 0684 is a 03/23/06 daughter of HH Hunter 652M and out of KPH Miss Homefront 051 and sold to Kayla, Cody, Alicia & Brady Geuther of Volin, SD for $2,800.

Top-selling Cow/Calf Pair was Lot 8 & 8A consigned by Werk Polled Herefords of Herman, MN and sold for a total of $4,300. Springwater Polled Herefords of Garretson, SD purchased Werk Forever Lady 514, a 03/07/05 daughter of VCR East Kodiak 506E and out of SHF Lady 512 L49. She was bred safe in calf to KJ 2403 Recruit 966R.

Top-selling bull was Lot 3 consigned by Gottschalk Polled Herefords, Byron, MN. GHF 827R Thrifty 346T is a 02/21/07 son of SHF 20L Triple Bonus 827R and out of a KT Top Secret 1030 daughter. He was sold to Krogstad Polled Herefords of Fertile, MN for $3,500.
